The North/South Chamber Orchestra continues its 35th season on the afternoon of Sunday February 15 with a special event featuring premieres by composers from Ireland and the US. The concert will mark Terry Riley's 80th birthday whose Half Wolf Dances Mad in Moonlight will be heard on the East Coast for the first time. Special guest for the occasion will be accordionist William Schimmel who will appear as soloist in the premiere of his work Max to Max for accordion and strings. The Irish composer Frank Corcoran will be in attendance to hear the first performance of his Quasi una storia for 13 strings. Works by Philadelphia-based composer Thomas Whitman and the orchestra's music director Max Lifchitz will round off the program. Admission free.
