The Klariano Duo will perform a program of works by Danish and American composers, including Poul Ruders, Niels Gade, Leonard Bernstein and Edward Smaldone. Edward Smaldone is a Professor of Theory and Composition at the Aaron Copland School of Music. The program is at 12:15-1:30 PM, Monday, February 11, 2019, in the LeFrak Concert Hall, in the New Music Building at Queens College. The concert is free admission and open to the public.
The Klariano Duo is clarinetist Søren-Filip Hansen and pianist Karina Brix Andersen. Both of these outstanding young musicians are graduates of the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.

Hansen is a member of the Royal Danish Lifeguard Band in Copenhagen, a member of the Opus Zoo Woodwind Quintet and teaches clarinet in several Danish schools. In 2001 and 2002, he won first prizes in the Berlingske Music-competition for young musicians and in 2014 he won the 1.st Prize in the clarinet competition at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. In 2012 -2013, Hansen was an exchange student, studying with Prof. Charles Neidich at the Copland School.
Karina Brix Andersen also studied collaborative piano at the Academy of Music in Tromsø, Norway, and currently has an active career as a freelance accompanist and teaches piano and ear-training.
