How can the art of opera relate to you? Maybe your experience has been dressing up nicely to attend the Met in New York or seeing an opera at Milan's La Scala. Maybe it seems like something foreign and exclusive to the wealthy, or simply old-fashioned and too difficult to understand. Voice artist Ju-eh and composer Hwarg present a brand-new work with powerful singing and delicate electronics that makes the art of opera directly relatable to your emotions and experiences: The Living Dying Opera.
The Living Dying Opera is abstract but universal, portraying simple but meaningful everyday moments. We aim to awaken the audience's sophisticated ability to relate to sound and word, to inspire imagination by triggering inner emotions and thoughts. Each performance is unique, tailored to the venue and involving improvisational elements that directly interact with the present audience. It's an eclectic but cohesive hybrid of voice, electronics, immersive sonic environments, scripted and unscripted dialogue, hilarity, and absurdity.
The show will be followed by a Q&A session with the artists.
