Composer and flutist Jamie Baum is the leader of the Jamie Baum Septet. Internationally known, this band had had many of the same members since its beginnings including Ralph Alessi, Douglas Yates, Tom Varner, George Colligan, Johannes Weidenmeuller and Jeff Hirshfield with appearances by Rez Abassi, Vijay Iyer, Shane Endsley, Drew Gress, Aaron Goldberg, etc. More recently with the her latest recording In This Life, featuring influences from Nustrat Fateh Ali Kahn, new additions to the band include Amir ElSaffar, Brad Shepik and John Escreet.
