Yael Archer ModianoSpiral Music presents acoustic music every Wednesday evening at the base of the Museum's spiral staircase. Artists who specialize in music from the Himalayas and South Asia are invited to forge a connection between their music and the art in the galleries.

A native of Tel Aviv, Yael Acher-Modiano graduated with a BA in Classical Flute from the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem. After living in Copenhagen for a decade, she moved to NYC with a Fulbright scholarship to study Composition at NYU in 2005. Since then she has resided in NYC. She works with Contemporary, Classical, Free, Meditation, Electro-acoustic, Jazz, and Hip Hop music, as a soloist, with chamber groups, and leading her progressive Jazz group "Kat" Modiano Quartet. Acher-Modiano also collaborates with choreographers, and composes live electro-acoustic soundtracks to legendary silent film screenings.
