Kevin Sport

Kevin Sport is a multi-faceted drummer/percussionist whose diverse percussive talents have made him an in-demand player in New York and abroad.  His musical life ranges from New York club dates to Cairo concert hall performances and everything in between. He received his Bachelor of Music from James Madison University and later pursued a Masters of Music in Percussion Performance at the Meadows School for the Arts in Dallas, Texas.  After moving to New York in September 2002, he quickly immersed himself in the city's vibrant music scene. He has performed almost every genre of popular and art music imaginable in clubs all over NYC, including The Knitting Factory, Sin-e, Pianos and Kush. He also works as an accompanist for modern dance classes, playing in studios ranging from The Alvin Ailey School, The J.K.O. School at American Ballet Theatre and The Martha Graham School. In addition to his work in the U.S., Kevin has performed and studied gamelan in Bali and dumbek in Turkey, Morocco and Egypt.
