The PROMISE Program will utilize a multidisciplinary approach to treating learning disabilities.  Cross-collaboration among experts in the different disciplines of psychiatry, psychology, and medicine will enable the development of the most innovative and effective treatments. 

The mission of Columbia University's Department, Psychiatry is to define for the field the standards of care and practices in psychiatry through leading edge research, clinical care, policy, and training.

Columbia University Medical Center is a world leader in the areas of psychiatric medicine, including psychiatric research, education, and clinical care.  Many children who meet the criteria for assessment and evaluation go without the services they need because of a shortage of clinical professionals to assess, evaluate, and connect them to services they need and deserve.
