Josie Whittlesey

Josie is an actor, director and acting teacher.  She is also the Co-Artistic Director of Human Animals, a New York based theater ensemble dedicated to exploring the idiosyncrasies of the human animal.  As an actor, she has appeared in Shockheaded Peter (Off-Broadway), Hillary (New Georges), Passing Strange (Sundance Theater Lab), Small Claims (IRT Theater), Satisfy Me (Elephant Stages, Los Angeles), Bottle House (workshop-Public Theater, with Sam Shepard), Fran's Bed (workshop with James Lapine and Mia Farrow).  She directed the critically acclaimed, middlemen by David Jenkins (Walkerspace Theater), and Dem Cyan Hunderstand (play without subtitles) by Susan Kalechi Watson (Studio Tisch and The New Black Fest), as well as numerous readings.  Josie teaches acting at NYU/CAP21 and Larry Singer Studios.  She has an MFA from NYU's Graduate Acting Program.
