John Swist has been studying and performing improvisation since he attended The School of Visual Arts (Class of '83). He began studying improv with "The First Amendment" in 1986 and joined his first improv group, "For Play Improvised Theater" in 1988. FPIT won the MAC Award that year with John now being a part of the cast. John has also performed with two other improv groups here in Manhattan - "Some Assembly Required" (a one year run at the Duplex) and "Klaatu". He also performed stand-up comedy on the East Coast from 1990 - 1994. John's own group, QUICKTHINKING! Improv began in the summer of 2000. John has been featured in commercials for NY LOTTO, NASDAQ, and MCI. He's also been seen in such films as Marvin's Room and appeared on an episode of "Spin City."
