Kent Nicholson: Recent directing credits include the world premiere of 9 Circles at Marin Theater Company and Long Story Short by Brendan Milburn and Valerie Vigoda at San Diego Repertory; the regional premiere of Grey Gardens at TheatreWorks, Palo Alto; And the West Coast Premieres of Satellites by Diana Son and Small Tragedy by Craig Lucas for the Aurora Theater Company. He has directed World Premieres by artists as diverse as Adam Bock, Liz Duffy Adams, Sheila Callaghan, and Bill Cain. He adapted and directed the play Sacrament! based on Dave Eggers' novel You Shall Know Our Velocity. From 2001-2008 Kent worked as the Director of New Play Development at TheatreWorks in Palo Alto where he created the New Works Initiative. While at TheatreWorks, he worked with over 75 artists on more than 50 projects. He is currently the Director of Musical Theater and Literary Associate for Playwrights Horizons in New York City. He has taught courses in Acting, Directing, Theater History and Dramatic Literature for UC Davis, SF State, Sonoma State and Foothill Conservatory among others.
