RISE Center

In 2016, Rockaway Waterfront Alliance (RWA) completed renovation of the former FDNY Company 265 Firehouse, located at Beach 59th St and Rockaway Beach Blvd, into the RISE CENTER; a center for community-based programs and collaborations focused on environmental concerns in the region including the environmental, economic, physical health and well being of the local Rockaway community.

RISE's mission is to make the Rockaway Peninsula a more vibrant and resilient community through community planning, environmental stewardship, arts and cultural programs.

The RISE Center features open and flexible spaces that can be used for public programs, after-school classes, art exhibitions and film screenings. It is a cultural and community center that welcomes both local residents and visitors alike to the Rockaways focusing on a stronger, well-informed and sustainable community.
