Fred Tessler
Fred Tessler enjoys a busy career as a Music Director and Director. Most recently Fred was Music Director for Five Course Love which ran for five months last season at the Minetta Lane Theatre. Other NYC work includes three seasons with the ENCORES! series at City Center where credits include Asst. Director for Do Re Mi starring Nathan Lane. Fred has also worked with The Roundabout Theatre Company, Primary Stages, and Manhattan Class Company. Regional work includes Don Juan Giovanni (Arranger/Music Director) with The Berkeley Repertory Theatre, The Lost Days of Agatha Christie (Director) with The Berkshire Theatre Festival and numerous productions with The Minneapolis Children's Theatre Company (Regional Tony Award) and Theatre de la Jeune Lune (Regional Tony Award). Fred is the Resident Music Director for Hope Summer Repertory Theatre where he has worked as a Director and Music Director on over 30 productions. Fred is on the faculty of the Theatre Department of Wagner College where he teaches Musical Theatre History and Performance. He has also taught professional development workshops for Theatre Development Fund and The Stratford Festival of Canada. Fred was pianist for The Royal Shakespeare Company's 1996 tour of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
