Broadway Actress, Karen Mason, shares her intimate story of 2 musicians finding each other at the beginning of their career.  Together, they share 16 years of discovery, friendship, laughter, music, and  heartache.  When one dies from AIDS, what happens to the survivor?

Join Karen for a cabaret of "Fierce Emotion" that is both "intense and intimate" (New York Times), as she explores the great loss of Brian Lasser through his songbook.

Karen originated the role of Tanya in the hit Broadway musical Mamma Mia! (2002 Drama Desk nomination) and graced the stage as Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, garnering critical acclaim and standing ovations on Broadway and in Los Angeles for three years. Her other Broadway credits include Mazeppa in Jerome Robbins' Broadway, Rosalie in Carnival (Drama Desk nomination), and featured roles in Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song Trilogy and Play Me a Country Song. She won the Outer Critics Circle Award for her performance in the Kander and Ebb revue And the World Goes Round and starred Off-Broadway in her own show, Karen Mason Sings Broadway, Beatles and Brian.

Colleen Zenk is a 3-time Emmy nominee for her portrayal of fashionista-diva-evil-bitch-mother-from-hell Barbara Ryan on AS THE WORLD TURNS, a role she played continuously for 32 years, from 1978-2010. Film: Annie (directed by John Huston), WOMAN ON THE LEDGE, YOU'D BETTER WATCH OUT. Broadway: BRING BACK BIRDIE (opposite Chita Rivera and Donald O'Connor). Off B'way: ODYSSEY, the Epic Musical, SUMMER STOCK NYC for CAP21. Regional: FOLLIES, HELLO, DOLLY!, APPLAUSE, LOVE LETTERS, PORTRAITS, THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG, CAN-CAN, WHERE'S CHARLEY?, MY FAIR LADY, MUSIC MAN, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, many more. A hundred+ television commercials. Catholic University of America. An Oral Cancer survivor celebrating her 5-year milestone, she continues to speak about early detection as the National Spokesperson of the Oral Cancer Foundation. Ms. Zenk is the recipient of numerous Humanitarian Awards for her activism: New York University Strusser Memorial Award, Hollywood, Health and Society Sentinel Award, American Cinema Award, Connecticut Bar Association-Humanitarian of the Year, March of Dimes-Mother of the Year. Board of Governors of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Favorite role: mother of a blended family of six, 4 girls, 2 boys, but, alas, now an empty-nester. One of the many producers of GODSPELL, currently at Circle in the Square on Broadway, Ms. Zenk debuted her one-woman musical evening, STILL SASSY, at Feinstein's at the Regency this past fall. This season, Colleen was last seen here at the CAP21 Theatre in the World Premiere of MARRYING GEORGE CLOONEY.
