THE GERSWHIN AWARDS
CAP21 is hosting The Gershwin Awards to celebrate outstanding achievement in musical theatre performance!
On May 21st from 9am-6pm high school students from all over the New York City Metropolitan Area will gather at CAP21 to participate in a series of group workshops, an interview, and a performance audition.
A panel of Broadway professionals including CAP21 co-founder Eliza Ventura, Music Director Tom Murray, and Casting Agent Cesar Rocha from Telsey Company will select the winners in the categories of Best Performance by a Lead Actor and Best Performance by a Leading Actress.
Winners will receive a $1000 and a scholarship to CAP21's Pre-College Musical Theatre Training Program.

It's almost that time of year again...time for CAP21's annual presentation of Summer Stock NYC!
This year is going to be even bigger and better, with even more performance opportunities for CAP21 Alums.

CAP21 SPRING GALA 2011
On April 11th, 2011 CAP21 honored composers and lyricists Jason Robert Brown and Georgia Stitt.
The evening included performance from Jason and Georgia themselves and from Broadway regulars: Kelli O'Hara, Davis Gaines, Brian d'Arcy James, Jessica Molaskey, Aisha de Haas, Lauren Kennedy, Christopher Jackson, Matt Dengler (CAP21 Alum), a chorus of 40 CAP21 students and Alums, and a 9-piece band.

IN MEMORIAM - RON STRATTON
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Ron Stratton. Ron worked at the front desk at CAP21 for many years and was an integral part of our community.
As a performer Ron appeared on Broadway in the original productions of Her First Roman, Subways Are for Sleeping, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Tenderloin and Goldilocks. He was and will always remain a part of the CAP21 family.
A memorial service will be held for Ron on Sunday, May 15th from 2pm-4pm at CAP21 (18 West 18th Street, 6th floor).
